Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur organises intensive cleanliness drive

DIMAPUR — The Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur (TSUD), in collaboration with the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), conducted an intensive cleanliness drive on August 16.


An update from the union stated that the cleanliness drive, which began at 5:30 am, covered the stretch from Clock Tower junction to Metro Hospital, reaffirming its enduring commitment to civic responsibility and environmental stewardship.


It stated that the initiative was made possible through the unwavering support and active participation of all its unit members, whose dedication and discipline exemplify the spirit of community service.


TSUD has appreciated the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) for their collaborative engagement and support, which greatly enhanced the effectiveness of the drive.

To ensure systematic execution, the union mobilised its nine affiliated tribal units, each assigned to specific responsibilities along the designated stretch. It stated that over 60 members took part in the drive, demonstrating the power of collective action in transforming public spaces.


The key objective of the drive was to foster civic cleanliness and public hygiene and inspires community participation in urban upkeep.


TSUD further stated that the initiative was not just about cleaning roads but also cultivating a culture of responsibility, pride and unity. It expected that all citizens would uphold cleanliness as a shared value and to continue supporting such efforts for a better Dimapur.
