DIMAPUR — With the tense situation prevailing in Manipur, a team from the Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation (TPO), led by its president Timikha Koza, visited Senapati and met tribe hohos under the Naga Peoples’ Organisation (NPO) of Senapati district.
According to an update, Koza called for peace amid the prevailing tension in the state and said the organisation was equally concerned about the situation in Manipur.
Although various reports and information were being circulated through different media platforms, the actual situation on the ground could not be fully confirmed, it stated.

Referring to reports that members of the Tenyimi community had been affected by the violence, including six persons who were reportedly still untraceable and several others injured, Koza said the TPO delegation had come to Senapati to understand the concerns of the Nagas in Manipur.
He also expressed displeasure over statements such as “Wipe out all the Nagas or Kukis.”
The TPO president stressed the need for communities to learn to live together peacefully. When asked about the message he wished to convey to the Nagas and Kukis in Manipur, he advocated peace, saying, “How long can we fight?”
Koza also recommended holding talks between the two communities to identify areas of difference and work towards resolving the issues amicably.
The Tenyimi people are a major ethnolinguistic and cultural bloc among the Naga communities, comprising 10 fraternal tribes spread across Nagaland, Manipur and Assam in Northeast India.
