DIMAPUR — Ten novices and seven sisters of the Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of the North East Province, after intensive preparation, consecrated themselves on April 30 at Assisi Auditorium, Lakeview Colony, Dimapur.

According to a press release, Rt. Rev. James Thoppil, Bishop of the Kohima Diocese, officiated the Eucharistic celebration and prayed for God's blessings to enable them to remain faithful to the call they have received and their commitment to God.

The vows were publicly pronounced in the presence of the bishop, priests, religious sisters, family members, and well-wishers, and were accepted by the Provincial Superior of the Northeast Province, Rev. Sr. Benny Fernandes. There were almost 800 people present for the ceremony. During the felicitation programme, the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation of the North East Province congratulated these sisters and prayed for God's manifold blessings on their future mission, aiming to be a sign of peace, love, and hope for the new world.
