Temperature continues to rise in Dimapur

Dimapur, March 18 (EMN):
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday reported that severe heat wave conditions have been observed over many parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and West Madhya Pradesh with the maximum temperatures recording above normal by 4.5⁰C.

Dimapur has been recording a maximum temperature of 35⁰C and above since March 12, as per the department of Soil and Water Conservation, Nagaland. On Friday, the district recorded a maximum of 36⁰C, the highest this week, while the minimum temperature was 20.5⁰C and relative humidity at 90%.

The department went on to inform that Dimapur recorded maximum temperature of 35.1⁰C on March 13; 35.2⁰C on the 14th; 35.3⁰C on 15th; and 35.6⁰C on 16th and the 17th.

The IMD also stated that isolated rainfall is expected in Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, Mokokchung and Phek districts on March 21, while rain is expected in Dimapur on March 23 and the 24th.
