
La Ganesan with members of the Telangana community and
officials at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, to celebrate the 11th Telangana State
Foundation Day on Monday.
- DIMAPUR — The 11th Telangana State Foundation
Day was celebrated at Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on Monday under the banner of “Ek
Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, with the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, attending
the event.
- According to an update, speaking on the occasion, the
governor lauded Telangana as a progressive state and a beacon of innovation and
cultural richness. He said that Telangana’s journey from its formation in 2014
to becoming a torchbearer of progress reflects the very soul of modern India.
- He remarked that the occasion was more than a ceremonial
observance and served as a powerful symbol of India’s unity in diversity.
- Referring to the recent Operation Sindoor, he praised the
nation’s collective resolve, stating that when India stands united, no
challenge can test its shared oneness. He commended the political maturity
shown across party lines, where leaders, regardless of ideological differences,
came together to support the national interest.
- The governor added that every state, every religion, and
every citizen—both young and old—stood behind the armed forces and leadership.
Despite the diversity, they showed that India always comes first.
- Highlighting Telangana’s transformative progress, the
governor pointed to several welfare schemes as models for inclusive
development. These included the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, which provides INR
3,00,000 in financial aid to women from disadvantaged backgrounds to build
houses, and the Mahalakshmi Scheme, benefiting 1.5 crore women with INR 2,500
in monthly assistance, free bus travel, and subsidised LPG.
- He also commended other citizen-centric initiatives such as
Indiramma Indlu, Praja Palana, and the Gruha Jyothi Scheme, which provides 200
units of free electricity to households every month.
- He noted that Hyderabad is now regarded as the IT and AI
capital of India, attributing Telangana’s rise to visionary leadership and
public participation.
- Addressing members of the Telangana community residing in
Nagaland, the governor encouraged them to serve as cultural ambassadors and
catalysts for development.
- He said they were not just earning a livelihood in Nagaland
but building bridges between Telangana and Nagaland. He urged them to share
their knowledge and mentor the youth around them. He expressed hope that, as
enterprising and hard-working people, they would contribute actively to the
growth of their second home.
- The governor concluded by extending his heartfelt greetings
on the occasion and wishing continued success to the people of Telangana.
- Earlier, the programme commenced with a welcome address
delivered by Thavaseelan K, Commissioner and Secretary to the governor. A
speech on Telangana was presented by Sankar Surada, president of the Nagaland
Telugu Samaj.
