Mokokchung, June 28 (EMN): The second day of the ongoing 2nd Summer Sixer Cricket Tournament organised by Titans Cricket Club saw Skylark, Craten, KKK, Capella, AAA, Zungamedem, Ajungben and United Brothers seal their place in the quarterfinals after defeating their opponents at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Wednesday.
In the first match, Craten won the match against Legioners by 32 runs. Craten scored a total of 74/1 while Legioners could only sum up a total of 40/2. Zungamedem also registered their first win against Jagurnaut after losing their first match against Skylark on the first day. Zungamedem achieved the target in 5.5 overs losing 3 wickets.
The third match saw Capella beat Ajungben by 9 runs while in the fourth match KKK humiliated Black Stallion. KKK bowled out their opponents in just 1.4 overs.
The fifth match saw United Brothers defeat Suzerain by 3 wickets. Suzerain could only manage to score 51runs losing 3 wickets against the desired target of 53 runs. While on the other hand Jagurnaut lost their second match against Skylark by 2 wickets in the sixth match. With two losses for Jagurnaut, Zungamedem booked its berth for the quarter-final.
Capella registered its second win against Wild Cats by 16 runs booking their quarter final spot. Capella scored 42/4 in the first inning but the Wild Cats could only muster a total of 26 runs.
In the last two matches, AAA defeated Cratens by a huge margin of 57 runs while Legioners won against Eagles by 6 runs. The Second day of the tourney was graced by L Temsu, president BJP Mokokchung district as the match patron.
