Dimapur, Jan. 11 (EMN): A quiz event forming part of the Election Commission’s almanac is being conducted in Nagaland. The National Elections Quiz is being conducted in Nagaland too.
The winning school team will be representing Nagaland in the semi finals and finals that will be conducted in New Delhi during Jan. 14-15. All 34 states and union territories are competing in the quiz competition, updates from the DIPR stated on Thur.
The team, it was informed, are to fly from Guwahati on Jan. 12 to Delhi for the event,” the DIPR stated.
According to the handout to the media, intra-school competitions based on the theme was held across the state in Nov. 2017. The winners of the intra-school event competed in the district rounds during the first week of Dec. 2017. The winners of the district rounds then competed in the state round on Dec. 15 2017, it was informed.
The winners of the state round is the team from Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School in Kohima represented by Merio N Ngullie, class-12 and Kekhriese Yhoshu, class-11, the updates informed.
The chief electoral officer of Nagaland is said to have appointed Bachu Yhoshu, assistant professor at Saochang Government College in Tuensang as the liaison officer of the competitors.
“They proceed to Dimapur today and fly from Guwahati on 12th January 2017 to Delhi. Necessary briefing and city touring shall be done on 13th January,” the DIPR update stated.
The semi finals and finals are scheduled to be held in the Rajya Sabha TV Studio during Jan. 14-15. This coverage shall be telecast across the country later, the DIPR updates stated.
‘As and when the telecast schedule is given by the ECI, it shall be shared with both electronic and print media for publicity so that the citizens shall be able to watch the national events in Nagaland,’ it added.
