KOHIMA — A three-member delegation from Nagaland attended the two-day ASCEND Academic Institution Capacity Building Programme, hosted by the Startup India Team and Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), at the Research and Innovation Park (RNI) in New Delhi on March 5 and 6.
The programme was aimed at enhancing the capacities of academic institutions and incubators from the northeast region, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty members.
Three delegates from Nagaland included Vetolu Dawhuo from YouthNet in Kohima, Tsatsungba Sangtam from Educenter School of Business and Awalo Keppen from NTTC in Dimapur.
The workshop covered an extensive range of topics pertinent to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and ecosystem within academic institutions while the event encompassed array of topics delivered by speakers and experts in their respective fields.
The training modules included market assessment, design thinking, product development, people management, product manufacturing, sales and marketing, finance management, fund-raising and legal considerations.
The workshop saw participation of 32 persons representing academic institutions and incubators from the northeast region, who engaged in a variety of sessions aimed at enriching their understanding and skills in various facets of entrepreneurship.
The programme concluded with a facility visit encompassing incubation modules, makers' spaces and labs at IIT Delhi and IIIT, offering participants a practical insight into the infrastructure and resources available for nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation.
