Kohima, Oct. 21 (EMN): An orientation on learning outcomes for in-service government elementary teachers was held today under the aegis of Educational Block Resource Centre (EBRC), L Khel Kohima village, in collaboration with District Mission Authority Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (DMA SSA), Kohima, at Ura Academy Hall.
Addressing the teachers from 39 government schools under EBRC L Khel, SDEO Kohima cum chairman, Talinganla said teachers need different trainings for better performance and to refresh and update themselves to provide quality education.

She informed that learning outcomes have been developed at the national level and has to mandatorily implement from academic session 2017-18 across the country. She added that learning outcomes aims to enhance the quality of learning in schools by enabling teachers to ascertain learning skills more accurately and take corrective steps without delay and provide effective learning opportunities to all students including children with special needs.
Stating that quality education is not only a national concern but also a global concern, the SDEO challenged all the teachers to come forward to act as an implementing instrument in enhancing quality education.
In his introductory note, EBRC L Khel coordinator, Visato Koso, said learning outcomes play a vital role in accessing the level of learning know-how and therefore said it is the responsibility of teachers to educate and impart all the necessary skills to the children from the elementary level in order to make them self-reliant.
Topics covered during the day-long orientation programme were constructivism and learning outcomes while the subjects were English, Environmental Science, Social Studies, Maths and Science. The resource persons were Rachel, Peletono and Vizonielie.
EBRC L Khel Assistant Coordinator Kajina Sote delivered the vote of thanks.
