Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): The Inclusive Education Resource Person (special teachers) of the elementary school education programme the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) has appealed to the government of Nagaland to release what they informed was pending salary. They informed to have had no salary for a year now and have sought their payment at par with that of regular employees of the state.
In a press release, a member of the inclusive education resource, Kedunol Kikhi, stated that due to their not being paid the teachers are undergoing tremendous hardship in meet the daily needs while performing their duties.
The concerned citizen mentioned that inclusive education resource persons were appointed as part of sanctioned posts of the SSA for Nagaland. He stated that after the appointment, they were posted to various educational resource centres attached to different schools.
Stating that they were performing their duties faithfully, he urged the state government to also give priority to inclusive education resource persons ‘as the state was striving for inclusive education.’
The teachers have appealed to the competent authorities to release their monthly salaries regularly at par with other regular employees of the state. It claimed that the government was yet to release a year’s salary (2017-2018) to the teachers.
The teachers have urged the state government to redress the grievances without further delay ‘to encourage the inclusive education resource person under SSA to be more sincere and dutiful.’
