
DIMAPUR— In an effort to facilitate women street vendors sustain their business; the Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA), a non-profit social organisation, gave away zero-interest loan to nine women street vendors during a programme held at Tourist Lodge in Dimapur on Thursday.
Speaking at the programme, the superintendent of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Ganesh Sharma, appreciated the women street vendors for putting in extra effort barring basic amenities apart from their household activities. He mentioned about a scheme introduced by the government of India called PM SVANidhi for street vendors.
He also stressed on the importance of saving for the future and advised them to know where to spend money.

Speaking on women’s physical well-being, Sekulu Nyekha, head of Feminist Future India, gave an educative session on women health.
Temjenlemla Phom, tEA beneficiary, narrated on how tEA introduced her about saving money since 2019. She also mentioned how EA helped her with zero-interest loans after the COVID-19 pandemic to restart her business.
She encouraged other fellow woman vendors to focus on savings for the sake of their children and try to manage finances in the family.
