
Technical Education department on February 21 bade farewell to its outgoing director, Mhaseto Nakro, during a programme held at the auditorium of its directorate.
Speaking on the occasion, M Nakro recounted how he was recruited through NPSC as lecturer in 1993 and joined Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) and went on deputation to Power department as SDO (electrical) in transmission division Mokokchung in 1998 and later joined the department in 2010 as the deputy director of Technical Education.
He relayed that he was again posted as principal of KPA from 2012 till October 2021 and subsequently as additional director and as director of Technical Education till his retiring on February 28.
He has acknowledged God for the unceasing guidance and help throughout his service life. He exhorted the officers and staff to serve the people with commitment.
The commissioner and secretary of Higher and Technical Education, Kenilo Apon, in his speech, appreciated the outgoing officers for the service rendered to the department and exuded hope that the retiring officer would continue to contribute to the society.
Meanwhile, the additional director, Vipulhou Lhoungu, has appreciated the outgoing director for his illustrious career and called upon the staff to work efficiently and render their best in the interest of the people.
Keyiekhru Rhetso, principal of Government Polytechnic Kohima, in his speech, recalled the contribution of the outgoing director as lecturer at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu. He also recounted the efforts of the outgoing director in tackling the land issues.
Other principals of the polytechnic institutes also hailed him for his resilient personality and work ethics.
A speech was delivered by a representative of the ministerial staff and appreciated him for his humanity, sincerity and hard work in his works and dealings.
The programme was chaired by Tiakaba Amer, joint director, while invocation was said by David Tsela, OSD, and concluded with a benediction said by Thepfungulie Kense, OSD.
