Dimapur, May 28 (EMN): Taking serious note on the poor performance of both government and private schools in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations, the Tizit Area Students’ Union (TASU) has cautioned to take stern action against erring teachers.
The decision to this effect was taken at a coordination cum consultative meeting of the Tizit Area Students’ Union on May 26 with all the head of the institutions of both government and private schools along with the VECs and unit presidents on the theme “Review of education system under Tizit.’
The house thoroughly reviewed the poor performance of both government and private schools in HSLC and HSSLC examination in the past. After threadbare discussion, TASU reminded that stern action would be taken against the erring teachers.
TASU also requested the head of the private institutions to make corrective measures particularly on hike in school fees. The officials asked the institution to maintain a Managing Board adding that all the administrators should obtain BA B.Ed/ MA B.Ed degree mandatorily within the timeframe set by the TASU.
The VECs were also briefed on Mid Day Meals based on the reports submitted by them. The VECs were asked to implement the scheme in a judicious manner for the welfare of the students community.
TASU further urged the unit presidents to check on irregularity of teachers and the VECs. The unit presidents were asked to make monthly visit to schools and submit the report.
The programme was chaired by Wangdun Konyak, speaker TASU, and the certificate of appreciation for producing cent percent result in HSLC 2017 was presented to Eklavya Model Residential School, Tizit, by the president. The meeting was attended by all the head of the institutions, VECs and the unit presidents.
