DIMAPUR, APRIL 27
Tenants’ Association of Naga Shopping Arcade (TANSA) has decided to keep in abeyance the proposed shutter down protest in deference to request made by the MLA and chairman of Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN), Dr. Longrineken. The decision to this effect was taken in its emergency executive meeting today, wherein the members agreed to the request made by the DAN chairman to give space for the authority to pursue the matter. However, TANSA requested DAN to fulfill its demands within 60 days, while cautioning that it would resort to its stand in the event of failing to redress its grievances.
It may be mentioned here that TANSA had, on April 13, served 15 days ultimatum to the authority to down shutter in protest against the indifferent attitude which would expire on April 28. TANSA alleged that the complex has not been renovated for over 15 years which has taken its toll due to wear and tear leading to roof leakage and damage to doors and windows. In a letter addressed to TANSA, DAN chairman said the matter has been seriously discussed with the government and decided to take up step by step corrective measures in all possible means. The chairman also stated that DAN had submitted proposal for renovation of the building of which it is expecting positive response from the government. In view of the stated development, the DAN chairman appealed to TANSA to call off its proposed protest.
Meanwhile, TANSA president Pukhaho Yepthomi thanked the Parliamentary Secretary of Science & Technology and Jail, S Hukavi Zhimomi for construction of road from Circuit House to Science Centre within the vicinity of Naga Shopping Arcade. He has also thanked 173 Bn CRPF personnel for conducting mass social in the locality to commemorate the World Malaria Day on April 25.Tenants’ Association of Naga Shopping Arcade (TANSA) has decided to keep in abeyance the proposed shutter down protest in deference to request made by the MLA and chairman of Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN), Dr. Longrineken.
