Tahmeed to captain BCCI combined Northeast and Bihar U-19 team

Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Tahmeed Rahman from Nagaland as the Captain of the Combined North East and Bihar U-19 team for the forthcoming Inter-state Vinoo Mankad U-19 trophy 2017-18. The combined team also known as the A n A team consist of; Tahmeed (captain) and Petenezo Rupreo from Nagaland, Harsh Raj, Sabir Khan, Sonu Gupta ,Abishek Anand from Bihar, Akash Choudhury, Arbin Singh, Mukesh Ray,B.B.Dasgupta from Meghalaya , Jhonson Singh, Rex Singh, and Alfred Hmar from Manipur, Dinesh Dhobi from Sikkim and Chandra Sharma from Arunachal Pradesh. Ñagaland Cricket Association in a press release stated that it has been a great honour and recognition for Nagaland Cricket Association as two players Tahmeed and Petenezo have been listed on the team with Tahmeed given the Captaincy. Tahmeed, an Alumni of Christian Higher Secondary School Dimapur has in the past represented Nagaland U-14, U-16 and U-19 teams on a regular basis. In 2016 representing the same A n A team he was the highest wicket-taker for his team both in the one-day Vinoo Mankad trophy and in the four days Cooch Behar U-19 inter-state trophies and was also listed in the East Zone U-19 probables in 2016. Tahmeed also attended 21 days National Cricket Academy camps in 2016 and 2017. Petenezo Rupereo an Alumni of Hebron Higher Secondary School Dimapur has also represented Nagaland U-16 and U-19 teams and was on the waiting list of the combined team in 2016. Petenezo also attended a 21 days NCA camp in 2016. Both Tahmeed and Petenezo are moving to Bangalore on September 29 to join a preparatory training camp at National Cricket Academy Bangalore from September 30 to October 7 and will then move with the team to play the Vinoo Mankad U-19 one day Inter-state trophy at Danbad . Matches with other teams of the east zone; October 10 vs Assam, October 12 vs Orissa, October 14 vs Tripura, October 16 vs Jharkhand and October 18 vs Bengal.
