As part of Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Open House initiative, a talent hunt event was held at Peoples College in Mokokchung on Aug. 31.
The event was organised by Mokokchung Event Management (MEM) with TaFMA as the event partner for Mokokchung district. The talent hunt comprised of solo and dance competitions.
Sungjemlila was declared as the winner in the solo singing competition followed by Imtimenla as the runner-up while in the dance competition Rahul was adjudged as the winner and Jenibemo Ovung as the runner-up.
MEM officials said TaFMA Open House initiation focuses on the grassroots level to uplift the talented youths in music and art. MEM officials also added that they plan to organise such talent hunt events in rest of the colleges in the district.
They further informed that winners of all events will be announced in the month of November and the best of the best would be given the opportunity to expose their talents in higher platforms.
MEM further informed that for Mokokchung District Ticket to Hornbill and Nagaland Choir Olympics auditions - interested bands and choir can submit their names on or before Sep. 20 and for further information one can contact MEM (Mob. No. 9089740266).
They added that winning bands from each district will be invited to perform at The Great Hornbill Rock, Hornbill Music Festival 2019 while the grand finale of Nagaland Choir Olympics will be held on October 23 at RCEMPA in Kohima.

Longleng: Also, the TaFMA launched its ‘Open House’ musical in Longleng on Aug. 30 at Anghya Resto.
In a release issued on Aug. 31, the President of Team Anghya Resto (event partner) B Pauloi Phom, thanked TaFMA for the collaboration and briefed the crowed about the concept of “Open House” concept that seeks to provide platform to show case the unexplored young talents.

John Tsulesi, DC of Longleng who was the chief host lauded the initiatives of TaFMA and encouraged the talented youths of any performing arts to take the platform created for them while launching the Open House.
Peren: The Peren District Music Society (PDMS) supported by TaFMA conducted the first ‘Open House’ musical in Peren Town on Aug. 30 with theme ‘Kick-Off Series’ – (Promoting Musicians at grassroot level)
An update from PDMS informed that the event was attended by a huge crowd of music enthusiast coming from the town and other neighbouring towns and villages.
Six upcoming musicians from the district enthralled the crowd with songs from different genre.
