DIMAPUR — With an aim to attract young and enthusiastic individuals to join the Territorial Army, the 164 Infantry Battalion of Territorial Army (TA) NAGA successfully conducted recruitment rally in Phek and Zakhama from November 12 to the 23rd.
A defence release stated that the rally was conducted in a smooth and efficient manner in which more than 3000 candidates participated in the rally by showcasing their enthusiasm and eagerness to serve the nation.
The candidates underwent a comprehensive selection process, which included physical fitness tests and medical examination. The selection process was designed to assess the candidate’s physical and mental fitness as well as their aptitude and leadership qualities.
It stated that the selected candidates would undergo further tests before finally inducting in the force for further training. They would be trained in various skills including combat, leadership and administration.
It stated that the recruitment rally was widely praised for its transparency and fairness. It stated that candidates, who attended the rally, have expressed satisfaction with the entire recruitment process.
Meanwhile, the 164 Infantry Battalion (TA) (H&H) NAGA team has appreciated the local administration, police and civil authorities for their support and cooperation in making the rally a success.
It further stated that the successful culmination of the recruitment rally demonstrated the Territorial Army’s resolve and commitment to attracting and recruiting the best talent from across the state. It added that the recruitment initiative would not only empower the youth of Nagaland but also strengthen the bond between the armed forces and the local populace.
