The opening ceremony of the silver jubilee Sport Meets of the Totok Chingnyu village was graced by the Deputy Commissioner, Mon, W. Honje Konyak as the chief guest and Khoiwang Konyak, President ENPO, as the guest of honour on March 30 at T/Chingnyu public ground.
In his inaugural speech, Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Honje Konyak, congratulated the students’ union for attaining 25 years of its existence in the field of games and sports and encouraged the youth to identify their ability and display skills and techniques to promote the identified games. At the same time, he exhorted the youth to emphasize more on quality education of the students through hard work and sincerity and also to inculcate self discipline.He further challenged the youth to take advantage of God’s blessing and change the face of the village by upholding the traditions and culture of the people which is the root of its existences.
The guest of honour, Khoiwang, in his short speech, urged the youth to bring about transformation in the village and to stay in unity and harmony. The highlights of the day were exhibition match between Shaoyah Keang XI vs Longkha Hong XI, special numbers and cultural dances by the participating clubs.
