Dimapur, July 2: Department of Soil & Water Conservation had organised a farewell programme in honour of its outgoing Director, MM Solo, on June 30 in the Directorate’s conference hall.
Speaking on the occasion, T Nungsang Ao, Commissioner & Secretary, acknowledged the sincerity and dedication of its outgoing Director towards the uplift of the department. He also praised him for reviving the department with better infrastructures for the trainees at State Soil & Water Conservation Training and Research Institute, Sechu Zubza.
Incoming Director, Peter K Rengma, attributed MM Solo as a humble, hardworking, sincere and dedicated officer both in the office as well as in the field and wished him a happy retired life.Delivering the farewell address, MM Solo thanked God for enabling him to complete his service in good health. He thanked his family and office staff for being supportive during his tenure in different capacities in the department. He also shared his personal experiences working with the departmental officials and ended his speech by saying that one must consider themselves indispensable to the department and that everyone has their own ability to play a major role for the betterment of the department.
The programme was chaired by Imkongneken Ao, incoming Additional Director, while SK Hekshe, spoke on behalf of outpost officers and staffs. Merithung presented a special number and the vote of thanks was delivered by Hevikhe Sema, incoming Project Director.
