The Swachh Bharat Mission agency for Mokokchung district has called upon the people of Mokokchung district to engage in “keeping our respective localities clean and hygienic” and develop a “hygienic lifestyle, make cleanliness our way of life and make keeping our surroundings neat a routine.”
Swachh Bharat Mission agency of the district issued a press release on Saturday, October 24, stating that cleanliness was “a part of our custom and therefore let us engage ourselves in keeping our towns, villages, compounds, colonies, neighborhoods and households clean without being told to.”
The press release stated:“Swachh Bharat Mission Mokokchung district would like to call upon the people of Mokokchung district to engage ourselves in keeping our respective localities clean and hygienic. Let us develop a hygienic lifestyle, make cleanliness our way of life and make keeping our surroundings neat a routine. Cleanliness is a part of our custom and therefore let us engage ourselves in keeping our towns, villages, compounds, colonies, neighborhoods and households clean without being told to.”
“Let us engage with the understanding that it benefits one and all. Let us encourage each other as we endeavor to make Mokokchung a clean district. Let us mobilize ourselves without any expectation for resources from any external agencies to keep our surroundings clean.”
The agency for Mokokchung district also expressed appreciation to “all the agencies, groups and individuals who have till date come forward to act on account of Swachh Bharat Mission and further calls upon every responsible citizen to continue to engage in the mission.”
The statement said that the Swachh Bharat Mission members laud the efforts of the Watsü Mungdang for conducting a mass cleanliness drive in Mokokchung town on Saturday, October 24, “on account of 125 years of Mokokchung town.”
Leaders of the Watsü Mungdang and well-wishers led by the women’s president Moachila undertook the drive called by the women’s organization in Mokokchung town on Saturday. “The cleanliness drive was called on account of 125 years of Mokokchung town. Watsü Mungdang has conveyed thanks and appreciation to all the well-wishers, volunteers and ward authorities of Mokokchung town for their cooperation,” the press release stated.
