Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): Reacting to the suspension of three senior members namely IK Sema, BJP advisor and former deputy chief minister; HK Khullu, retired Additional chief secretary and BJP convenor of finance and development committee; and Yanghose Sangtam, former BJP spokesman, the latter claimed that the suspension order was issued based on false allegation, malicious in intent, dictatorial in nature, and a flagrant violation of rules as contained in the constitution of BJP.
In a joint statement, the three senior members stated that appointment of advisor was done with the approval of the centre and therefore said action cannot be taken by the president on his own.
It has termed as ‘false and concocted’ on the allegation that slogans were shouted against the central leaders. It clarified that none of the placard had names or mention of central leaders, adding the photographs appearing in the media are clear proof of the same.
The members also claimed that there is complete ‘misuse of power’ by the State president, who himself was appointed in an ‘unconstitutional manner.’ It went on to alleged that such dictatorial behaviour of the State president has led to the present situation wherein nine senior office bearers were dismissed without following any norms, while as many as 30 executive members were removed without assigning any reason. Further, it said four district presidents have been issued show cause notice despite the fact that all the 12 presidents had signed the memorandum.
Stating that BJP cannot grow or succeed under such leadership, the aggrieved members have urged the BJP central leadership to change the president immediately in order that the party is not put into further embarrassment.
