Mokokchung, Dec. 7 (EMN): In a good-will mission, more than 45 plus volunteers in Sungratsu village initiated a major road repairing work connecting GHS Sungartsu at Alongchen compound, Impur, and Mopungchuket village on December 7.
An update from the volunteers informed that the road was repaired in 2010 through VDB fund. However, with the passage of time the road could not be maintained and started deteriorating causing inconveniences for daily commuters.
Imnakumzuk, one prominent citizen of Sungartsu village, said approximately half a kilometre was repaired by the volunteers. “We have almost plastered half of the road with concrete as procurement of Asphalt was not possible. It is just a humble contribution from our side for the welfare of the village,” he said.
Meanwhile, the volunteers also expressed appreciation to Sungartsu Baptist Arogo, Alongchen Baptist Arogo, Sungratsu Yimten and well-wishers for their contributions toward the road repairing work.
