Dimapur, April 9 (EMN): 20 minutes of thundershower and storm left behind a trail of devastation across Longchem circle headquarters in Mokokchung district on Sunday, April 9, from around 1.30 pm.
According to reports, the roof of the Extra Assistant Commissioner’s (EAC )office was completely blown off while a gazebo was damaged in the afternoon storm. It was also reported that Longchem headquarters’ police station was partly damaged.
The storm affected the recently constructed Primary Health Centre’s verandah also, reports said.

Further, around ten houses were damaged, including the Longchem Council Hall. Almost all livestock shelters were completely damaged besides destroying crops, it was reported.
The additional deputy commissioner of the subdivision, Imtiwapang Aier, informed our Mokokchung correspondent that around 200 houses in said area were damaged in the storm.
Coincidentally, neither the Longchem circle headquarter EAC, who is on leave, or police officials were available at the time of the incident for confirmation.
Similar damage were reported in Yajang-C and Changdang village. The impact of Sunday’s storm was also seen in Aonokpu village where reports of houses and livestock shelters damage were reported.
