Mokokchung, June 17(EMN): In commemoration of Fathers’ Day, the Sumo Driver Union of Mokokchung paid a goodwill visit to the District Jail Mokokchung on Sunday June 17.
A press release from the union informed that a short programme was held at the chapel hall of the jail.
The legal advisor, I Imkong Jamir appreciated the jail authority for allowing the union to visit the prison and the drivers’ union for their noble gesture.
He encouraged the inmates not be disheartened but rather be hopeful that one-day they will walk out of the jail as a changed person and contribute to the society.
The union advisor reminded the inmates to keep in mind of the noble gestures shown by various stakeholders and well-wishers and to do the same deeds once they come out from the prison.
Short speeches were delivered by president of the union, Yanger resident and a representative from the inmates.
The union distributed gifts to the inmates and security guards.
