KOHIMA — A summer football coaching camp for children that was underway at IG Stadium in Kohima concluded on Tuesday. It commenced on July 2 and was organised by the sports committee of New Market.

During the camp, coaches Ropfü Meyase, Stephen Rutsa, Seyiekhrietuo Suohu, Neithovilie Chalieu, and Diethozoto Sechü provided training to around 70 children from the colony (Ward 8).

Kikrukhrielie Rutsa, a member of the sports committee, informed Eastern Mirror that the camp was organised to provide grassroots-level coaching to young football enthusiasts.

Rutsa emphasised the importance of grassroots-level coaching, noting that players find it easier to refine their skills when they learn the fundamentals at a young age.

He mentioned that many first-time players registered for the seven-day coaching camp.

The sports committee also expressed gratitude to everyone involved for their support throughout the camp.
