Dimapur, Aug. 6 (EMN): The Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) observed Sumi Patriots ’ Day in Zunheboto on August 4 in commemoration of the Sumis who had sacrificed their life for the cause of the Nagas freedom movement. A press statement from the union informed that the event was observed also to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of Kaito Sukhai, the first commander-in-chief of the Naga Army.
According to the release, the programme saw a gathering of different Sumi civil societies, organisations, and students from various institutions. The president of SKK, Atokiho Sumi gave a key note address whereas, solidarity speech was delivered by Sumi Hoho, and a speech on the recollection of past observation by Dr. HS Rotokha. The updates further mentioned that Nagatoli Yepthomi and Lashika Zhimomi delivered speeches on behalf of the patriot’s family.
