Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): The foundation stone for Sumi Ki (Sumi for house) was formally unveiled by Lok Sabha MP, Tokheho Yepthomi on Oct. 6 at Chekiye village in the presence of Sumi Ki Construction Committee members and leaders of frontal organizations under Western Sumi Hoho.
During a brief programme held after unveiling the stone, the parliamentarian, Tokheho Yepthomi called upon all Western Sumi leaders and public to extend their support and cooperation in their own capacities towards the construction for timely completion of the project.
“Instead of relegating responsibilities to one another everyone should do their bit and take it as a responsibility to see that the building is constructed at the earliest,” said Yepthomi.
While calling upon all to contribute their physical, moral and prayer support, Yepthomi said that money is not the only thing that is needed to construct a building. He added that the house would not only be for the present leaders but also for the posterity to come.
Also speaking at the programme, Sumi Ki Construction Committee, Convenor, K. Kakheho Yepthomi appealed for unwavering support and cooperation towards the Committee and to work in unison since it a common property.
He expressed appreciation to Secretary, Finance and LRD, Y. Kikheto Sema IAS for his financial assistance in acquiring the land for the building. He also thanked the MP Tokheho Yepthomi for his assistance towards the construction.
Earlier, the President Western Sumi Hoho, Zheshito welcomed all to the unveiling programme, a press note stated.
