Sumi Baptist Church youths celebrate golden jubilee

Dimapur, Nov. 12 (EMN):The 50th year thanksgiving service of the Dimapur Sumi Baptist youth ministry was conducted on November 11 with great fanfare. The event’s theme was said to be ‘For His faithfulness.’ Former youth leaders and youth pastors of the church attended the celebrations. An impressive opening ceremony depicting the valour, honesty and gallantry of the community’s forefathers were performed by the DSBC’s drama team, according to updates on Monday. The jubilee flag was carried by Jonah Achumi, member of the jubilee’s planning committee, it was informed. A special recitation dedicated to the youths was recited by Ninoli Muru. the Youth Choir and Elikana and group also performed for the gathering, it was informed. “The first youth leader of the church Luvukhu Achumi, shared his jubilee greetings to the congregation. The jubilee souvenir was opened by the senior pastor DSBC Rev. S. Vitoshe Swu. He also exhorted the congregation and told them to be truthful to God and reflect upon the past if we have done any wrongs in the eyes of God and seek God’s forgiveness,” the updates informed. A feast followed the main programme ‘as mark of sharing the blessings of the jubilee,’ it was informed.
