
DIMAPUR — A substantive cache of arms and ammunition, comprising one improvised long range mortar (Pompi), one 303 Rifle, two 12-bore guns, two hand grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores, were recovered in Manipur
The recovery was made following a joint search operation launched by the Indian Army along with the Manipur Police after receiving specific information about the presence of weaponry in the general area of Gwaltabi village, Imphal East district of Manipur, informed an update from the Ministry of Defence on Monday.
The recovered items handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and Disposal, it said.
“The Security Forces remain vigilant and committed to an early restoration of peace and harmony in the state of Manipur,” it added.
