- DIMAPUR — Advisor
of Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba, has called upon the students
to set achievable targets and work towards the betterment of the society.
- He stated this during the valedictory programme of a two-day
conference of the 75th Jangpetkong Senso Mungdang (JSM) held in Molungyimsen
village under Mokokchung district on Friday as the guest of honour. Describing
the significance of Molungyimsen village in the Naga history, where
Christianity first came to the village and eventually spread to the rest of
Naga people, he called upon the students to uphold the legacy left behind by
their forefathers, a DIPR report stated.
- While emphasising the scope of economic growth, he said
Jangpetkong range along with its two neighbouring range under Mokokchung
district has great potential as researchers have estimated that about 600
million metric tonnes of crude oil deposit in Nagaland, out of which the
highest concentration of the deposit is located along the three ranges.
- To tap the resources, he has sought to work in cohesion with
the village councils and adapt certain social norms to keep up pace with the
developmental advancements.
- Also speaking at the programme, Chuba Ozukum, convenor of
Global Naga Forum and former president Naga Hoho, shared his thoughts on
socio-economic issues that are relevant to the society and to change and shape
the future course of society with the right perspective.
- The programme was presided over by JSM office bearers, while
Dibuia Village Council members presented a cultural song and invocation prayer
was said by Rev. Tajung, pastor of Molungyimsen Baptist Church.
