Dimapur, March 7 (EMN): The Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) has vehemently condemned the alleged life attempt on former Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) speaker, Joshua Thong; NSF vice president, Boveio Poukai Duo and his cousin Velu by unknown armed miscreant on March 3 in Dimapur who narrowly escaped.
A press release from union president and vice president on Wednesday stated that the unknown armed miscreant fired two shots at them near East Police Station in Dimapur at around 9 pm.
The union while expressing dismay over the incident has strongly urged the law enforcing agencies to book the culprit at the earliest.
It also appealed to all the section of the society to condemn such coward act.
TSUD: The Tenyimi Students Union Dimapur (TSUD) has strongly condemned the alleged life attempt of NSF vice president Boveio Poukai Duo on March 3 at around 9 pm ‘while they were heading towards Sematilla from Purana Bazaar, near East Police Station, by an unknown person.
The union president and general secretary in a press release said this is not the first time that such incident happened to Tenyimi students leaders.
Condemning the gun culture that has been taking place in the state, the union said ‘any attack on students’ leaders is an attack in the larger students’ community.’
The union appealed the law enforcement agencies to take stringent action on those responsible.
“Yesterday it was Boveio, today it could be anyone of us, so the TSUD request all the tribal leaders to condemn this gun culture.”
DRSU: The Dimapur Rengma Students’ Union has expressed shock over the alleged life attempt made on former NSF speaker, Joshua Thong; NSF vice president, Boveio Poukai Duo; and his cousin Velu.
An unknown armed man fired two shots from the middle of the road near East Police Station, Dimapur while they were travelling towards town on March 3 at around 9 am, a press release from union president stated.
The union appealed the law enforcing agencies to look into the matter at the earliest with utmost importance and book the culprit.
DRYO: The Dimapur Rengma Youth Organization (DRYO) has condemned the alleged life attempt made upon its bonafide member Joshua Thong and his two friends on the March 3 at around 9 pm near East Police Station in Dimapur.
A press release from from youth president, Ruchuyhun Keppen expressed shock in attempting one’s life without any reason.
DRYO appealed the police and district administration to take the matter seriously and book the culprit at the earliest.
