Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): Former chairman of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Y Vikheho Awomi, called upon the students to explore good qualities required to become a responsible person for a better society and use it wisely to achieve greater things in life.
Vikheho stated this at the introductory session of a five-day Collegiate Meet of the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU), which got underway on October 17 at Sakus Mission College in Dimapur on the theme ‘Metamorphosis.’ Describing students as the ‘soul’ of every society, he urged upon the students to explore the various doors of opportunities made available to them, stated an update from ANCSU.
He encouraged the students to pursue their aims and objectives with utmost sincerity and dedication in order to live a contended life and further challenged the ANCSU and the student community to take up social responsibilities and duties to build a robust Naga society.
The introductory session was chaired by ANCSU speaker, Topeka Yepthomi, while Sunep Lemtur, alumnus of SMC, enthralled the gathering with his songs. Invocation was said by Mughaholi Yepthomi, mission secretary of Light In The 10/40 Window Ministry, while Yanger Aier, chairman of SMC, delivered the welcome address. Runole Tep also presented a song and Wangkem Konyak, president of SMCSU, said the benediction.
It informed that a total of 31 affiliated colleges with 1092 delegates are participating in the five-day event. Various sporting events, beat contest and Miss ANCSU would mark the Collegiate Meet.
