Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): With an aim to help student leaders discover the true meaning of leadership and help the student leaders to build confidence and paves the way for future inspirational leaders, the Peace Channel, organized a day leadership training programme for the club members at Libemo Memorial School in Wokha on May 15. Altogether 24 members along with two teacher animator participated for the program.
Addressing the students, peace activist Patrick W Tungoe said that leadership is not about a title or a designation but a person who knows the way, goes the way and show the way. He exhorted that being a leader one should creates an inspiring vision for the future, coaches and builds a team and motivates and inspire the people to engage more effectively at achieving the goals.
“To be a leader we should work hard to build ourselves, be it self-discipline, Character and values by always setting good examples because it is not possible to lead someone else if we don’t lead ourselves in the Right direction,” he said.
Tungoe encouraged the participants to work on the effective speaking and communication to be able to convince and communicate the massage to the people and be willing to accept and overcome mistakes and failure. He further encouraged the participants to set Smart goal which is specific, measurable, achievable, and rational and time bound to achieve the set goals.
The student leaders took an oath to strive to be leaders who would make a difference and transform the society.
