Shamator hosts science exhibition themed on Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.

DIMAPUR — A science exhibition themed "Women in science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat" was held at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Shamator, on Monday, with participation from various schools across the district.
According to a DIPR report, the programme was attended by EAC Shamator Mekato J Aye as the special guest.
It said that the exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase their scientific aptitude, creativity, and innovative thinking through a variety of models and working demonstrations. Some of the notable exhibits included a solar-powered irrigation system; a model on electromagnetic power generation; and a vacuum cleaner technology operated through pressure, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Aye highlighted the importance of curiosity and critical thinking as the foundation of innovation. He remarked that every invention begins with a question and that science is not confined to laboratories or textbooks but is deeply connected to everyday life.

He encouraged students to view local challenges as opportunities for innovation and highlighted that technology and the internet have opened unprecedented avenues for learning and creativity, irrespective of geographical location.
Referring to the theme, he underscored the significant role of women in science and technology and their contribution towards building a developed India. He further encouraged students to nurture their ideas, remain curious, and continuously seek solutions to real-world problems, noting that today's ideas could become tomorrow's innovations.
The programme concluded with an inspection of the exhibits and interaction with the participating students, during which the special guest appreciated the efforts of the young innovators and the teachers who guided them.
