Dimapur, Nov. 27 (EMN): Students of St. John School in Dimapur were made to understand basic principles of operating small business for sustainability through entrepreneurship skills, by way of setting up stalls to sell ethnic food during the college’s festival that was conducted on November 23.
The college celebrated its 2nd college festival with the theme ‘Earn while you can.’
Students were encouraged to practice their entrepreneurial skills by setting up stalls to sell ethnic food and various fairground games which entertained the students and visitors, an update from the college stated.
The idea behind organising the festival was to enable the students gain an understanding of the basic principles of operating small businesses as they develop their own ideas, purchase stock, set prices, and sell their products.
It stated that a stall was also taken up by a team from the Civil Hospital of Dimapur led by Dr. Temsu, who conducted blood group tests for free. A total of 62 students identified their blood group on the day.
In the evening, a cultural programme was conducted in which several items were performed by students. The programme was highlighted by the performance from local band UDX, who were runners up at the Hornbill International Rock Contest 2018.
The programme was attended by students from other colleges. Overall the programme was a success as all of the stalls sold out, updates stated.
The college’s authorities have thanked the UDX for attending the programme with their exhilarating performance. It also thanked Santosh and his crew from Creative Sound.
