DIMAPUR — A group of young students have displayed exemplary environmental responsibility as they took upon themselves to pick up plastic wastes from various locations in Pathso Nokeng village in Noklak district.
Led by Khumong K, who just returned to the village as he awaits his HSSLC result, the students, mostly primary school goers, on May 20 collected at least half a dozen sacks of non-degradable plastic wastes.
“Their voluntary initiatives have not only made a significant impact on the cleanliness of the surroundings but have also set an inspiring example for the entire community,” the Pathso Nokeng Students’ Union (PNSU) informed in an update.

The impact of their work goes far beyond the physical act of clearing wastes but showcases their maturity, sense of belongingness and commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier world,” the union added.
