Dimapur, Nov. 10 (EMN): Indian army under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ flagged off a National Integration Tour (NIT) for 18 students and two staff members of Kumbi College, Manipur, to Delhi and Agra on November 8.
According to a defence release, the tour aims to provide an insight on ethnic, cultural and religious diversity of India. The team would visit premier institutions and witness the strides made by India in the fields of economy, infrastructure and entertainment.
Organised on the theme ‘Today’s children, tomorrow's future of the northeast,’ the tour was another endeavour of Indian army to harness the potential of children from families which are below the poverty line and from remote locations.
The tour was well received by the locals, who have shown keen interest by their participation and have expressed gratitude towards the Indian army for their continuous efforts in providing platforms for their children to excel.
