- DIMAPUR — Students
from various schools of Tengnoupal district in Manipur, who are currently on
National Integration Tour (NIT) under Operation Sadbhavana, organised by the
Assam Rifles (South), visited Raj Bhavan in Kohima and interacted with the
Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, on Thursday.
- During the interaction, the governor stated that while
people from different parts of the country differ in food, culture, dresses
etc, everyone shares a fundamental unity, which makes them all Indians.
- He emphasised the importance of not only acquiring knowledge
from diverse communities but also developing an appreciation for their cultural
practices. He acknowledged the nation's linguistic diversity while reiterating
its people's inherent unity, an update from Raj Bhavan stated.
- The governor underscored the significance of hospitality as
an integral aspect of Indian culture and reminded the students that though they
may belong to different communities of Manipur, they all should keep in mind
that they are Indians first.
- Report stated that the participating students also shared
their perspectives and insights during their visit to different parts of the
country.
- Major Jagmininder Singh Khalsa, officer-in-charge of the
National Integration Tour, delivered a welcome address.
