Dimapur, March 16 (EMN): Four students from Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) have been selected to receive the Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana Scholaraship (DDSYS). This was announced during the philatelic quiz competition conducted Jan. 12 at LFHSS by the directorate of postal services.
According to a press release from the school, a total of 23 students from five schools had participated in the event. Seven students were selected to receive the scholarship. The selected students were: four from LFHSS; one from Zakiesatuo Memorial school; one from Kendriya Vidyalaya (Sewak); and one from Pranab Vidyapith school.
In the Northeast, a total of 29 students were selected: 13 from Manipur; seven from Nagaland; five from Tripura; three from Meghalaya and one from Arunachal Pradesh.
The DDSYS will be distributed to the selected students at 11:00 am on March 20, through video conferencing. The main function will be held later at New Delhi. INR 6000 will be credited to the selected students’ saving bank account on the same day.
The release also stated that the DDSYS programme is conducted every year to award children in the category of class VI to IX. The students were selected based on their performance of philately quiz and project works.
