DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 30
As students, there is a value at work when they focus on God and accompany that with hard work; they must not give up at the first failure but continue at it. This was the message that marked a recent conclave of the Sumi students’ community of Dimapur.
The 38th general conference of the Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (DSSU) got underway on Friday, October 30, at Town Hall of Dimapur. Additional Director of Land Resources department, Hoto Yepthomi was the ‘resource person’ for the event.
Addressing the students’ community during the opening day of the general conference, Yepthomi persuaded the students to maintain consistency in their activities and not to ‘resign at their first failure.’ He urged upon them to keep God in focus and accompany that value with hard labor.
Emphasizing on the importance of personality, the official also maintained that a person should focus more on ‘inner qualities rather than the exterior qualities as the latter would die away with passage of time.’ He, therefore, exhorted the students to make use of their youthful days to bring ‘harmony’ in the society as much as be ‘action oriented.’ Yepthomi has urged the youths not to act on emotions but to ‘take steps with a matured mind.’
