DIMAPUR — The
first general session of the All Pangsha Students' Union was held at its HQ,
ITC Dan, Noklak district, from December 18 to the 20th. The theme was
"Transcend and transform”.
According to an update, during the session, a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) was signed between the All Pangsha Students' Union, the
Tobu Area Students' Union, and the Naga Students' Organisation (Myanmar) to
maintain a strong relationship as one brotherhood and promote peaceful
coexistence.
The MoU was signed on December 20, with the aim of fostering
cooperation, recognising the importance of enhancing relationships and peace,
ensuring free movement, and combating illegal activities that threaten societal
harmony.
According to the MoU, the parties agreed that the three
organisations strongly condemn the scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR)
and oppose the proposed border fencing in their jurisdiction.
They agreed to uphold and enhance the existing free movement
to ensure the continuation of brotherhood. They shall not impose barriers that
may hinder the mutual benefits of free movement.
Further, they also agreed that no restriction of movement
shall be imposed within the east-west stretch of Naga areas, considering the
brotherhood relationship of the Nagas as a whole.
They decided to work and extend cooperation for the
enhancement of developmental activities among all three parties. They recognise
the harmful impact of illegal drug activities and commit to cooperating in
eradicating anti-social activities. They also agree to protect the environment
and address related issues accordingly.
They also assured to maintain the International Trade Centre
(ITC) Dan as a peace zone for the betterment of all parties and added that any
organisation attempting to undermine the peace zone shall be condemned.
