Strike-Fit Academy Nagaland wins nine golds at Northeast Mix Boxing Championship

DIMAPUR — Team Strike-Fit Academy Nagaland secured the runners-up title at the 2nd Northeast Mix Boxing Championship held in Sonari, Assam, on September 13 and 14.

The Nagaland contingent won nine gold medals and two silver medals to claim the second spot among participating teams from across the region, according to an update.

The gold medallists included Shayon Das (48 kg), Maongtemjen Imsong (52 kg), Aputo Zhimom (52 kg, Pro), Huka Ayemi (54 kg), Hisato Ayemi (57 kg, Pro), Niuka Chophi (63.5 kg), Vihuto Sema (67 kg, Pro), Changsang Lemba (70 kg), and Phongmei Phom (75 kg).

Silver medals were won by Ikamu H. Achumi (45 kg, 15 yrs) and Pikato V. Awomi (54 kg, 17 yrs).

The team was led by coach Hemavi and manager Moakumzük Longchar.
