Theft occurred at government high school, Sovima, Dimapur; school removed from list of exam centre
Dimapur, Nov. 27 (EMN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has rescheduled the final board examinations for class VIII and IX following what it informed was a reported theft of “confidential packets of class VIII and class IX” at government high school, Sovima, Dimapur. The board issued a press release on Monday informing of the change in routine.
“The class IX final examination 2017 will now be held from 30th November 2017 to 8th December 2017. The revised routine is being published separately. The examination of other classes should not be affected by this change of schedule.
“The board shall issue the new question papers for English, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Alternative English and Environmental Education subjects. For the remaining subjects, schools shall use the questions papers already issued by the board. The new question papers will be delivered in the district headquarters on the 29th November 2017 by the board officials. Schools under Kohima district shall collect it from the board’s office,” it informed.
According to the NBSE, the set I question papers shall not be opened till the examination is over. “The heads of institutions shall collect the confidential packets on the specified dates from the respective district designated schools.
“As an immediate penal action, the examination centre for govt. high school, Sovima, Dimapur is cancelled. The centre of class IX final examination 2017 for this school shall be govt. high school, Diphupar ‘B’. Further course of action shall be initiated as per rules,” it stated.
It also informed that the next examination for class VIII shall be held on Dec. 6, 2017.
