State to undertake assessment camps

Dimapur, May 14 (EMN): Nagaland Education Mission Sociaty will conduct assessment camps for children with special needs in the age group of 6-18 years from May 16 to 22 in 10 districts. The programme is being organised by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan/ Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland Education Mission Society, in collaboration with the department of Health and Family Welfare, Star Key -New Delhi, and Nagaland Research Rehabilitation Centre (NRRC), Dimapur, under department of Social Welfare. The assessment camp on May 16 would be conducted at Nagarjan (Kuda) EBRC for Dimapur district and at Peren EBRC for Peren district, while on May 17, assessment camp would be conducted at LIKA community hall for Wokha district and at Ura Academy hall for Kohima district, and on May 18 at Mokokchung village EBRC for Mokokchung district and at Longleng EBRC for Longleng district. Assessment camp on May 20 would be conducted at Mon Town Council Hall for Mon district and at Zunheboto EBRC for Zunheboto district, while on May 21, assessment camp for Phek district would be conducted at Phek EBRC. Assessment camp on May 22 would be conducted at Kiphire EBRC for Kiphire district. Stating this in a press release, State Mission Director, Kevileno Angami, has requested children in need of aids and appliances to attend the assessment camps on the above mentioned dates and venues. She added that hearing aids would be provided on the spot for those hearing impaired children. For other disabilities, assistive devices would be provided under Samagra Shiksha after completion of the assessment camp, she added.
