State to observe National Girl Child Day

Dimapur, Jan. 21: The department of Social Welfare and the Nagaland State Resource Centre for Women (NSRCW) will be organising a programme to commemorate the National Girl Child Day on January 24, 11 a.m. at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima. The programme will be graced by Chief Minister TR Zeliang as the chief guest while Minister for Social Security & Welfare, Kiyanilie Peseyie will be the guest of honour. Highlights of the programme include screening of ‘Standing Tall’, a video dedicated to every girl child, giving away of bravery award, and the status of girl child in the state and gender critical district to be highlighted by SRCW Mission Director, Daisy Mezhür.
