Dimapur, August 28 (EMN): The Election Commission of India will be launching the online electoral roll management based on the Unified National Photo Electoral Roll database known by the name ERONET in the state on August 30, 2017.
This was informed by the Chief Electoral Officer, Abhijit Sinha on Monday through a press release .
" ERONET is envisioned keeping in mind the mandate of the Election Commission, that no voter be left behind irrespective of his language or physical ability. The system strives to make an applicant's entry in the Electoral Roll unambiguous and error free without much of a hassle. ERONET brings in seamless processing of forms, easy handling of the databases, regular and simpler way of monitoring and maintaining the health of the Electoral Roll, " it stated.
Hereafter the inclusion, modification, deletion or transposition in the electoral rolls can be done online by submitting forms through an online portal known as the National Voters' Service Portal.
Forms can be submitted online through the National Voters' Service Portal (NVSP) will then be processed in the ERONET.
Forms submitted in physical (hardcopy) to the ERO/ AERO/ BLO of one's Assembly Constituency or Polling Station shall be digitized, uploaded and processed in the ERONET, it further staetd.
It also stated that all concerned officials have been trained at the state and district level for implementation of ERONET in the State.
