Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): Land Patta Management System (LaPaMS), a software programme for computerisation of land record for Nagaland, was inaugurated by the chief secretary Pankaj Kumar in his office’s conference hall, Kohima, on October 13.
The inauguration programme was jointly organised by NIC Nagaland and Land Revenue Department.
Speaking at inaugural function, Kumar said LaPaMS will be implemented in Dimapur as a pilot district. He also added that there is a huge challenge ahead as the same will be implemented in the remaining districts. He congratulated NIC Nagaland for developing the software.
He urged the district administration and land revenue department to collaborate closely for successful implementation of the project. He expressed the need to have a platform where NIC can express its infrastructural needs to other departments like power and connectivity. He further added that the State government will provide necessary assistance to land revenue department.
The software will be implemented in all the deputy commissioner’s offices in the State. It is a web based application which can be accessed from any location where there is NICNET connectivity of NIC.
The software will facilitate automatic update of land records and expedite the office functioning and also maintain transparency.
NIC made a detail powerpoint presentation on how to operate LaPaMS.
