Dimapur, Aug. 28 (EMN): The department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, representing the Nagaland government, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US-India Business Council (USIBC) on August 23 in New Delhi.
The USIBC is a premier business advocacy organisation dedicated to strengthening economic and commercial relations between the United States and India; and the largest bilateral advocacy group in the US-India investment space.
The USIBC has its office at 1615 H St. NW, Washington, DC 20062, USA, a DIPR report stated.
The objective of the MoU is to encourage interaction between corporate members of the USIBC’s “corporate entities” and the state’s government on the general topic of growth and development of regional economy.
It stated that the USIBC intends to facilitate engagements within the state of Nagaland at which the corporate entities could present their interests, advice and capabilities in several areas including development of an employment-oriented skilling ecosystem in Nagaland; How to prepare a blueprint of skill development for employability in Nagaland and also assist in finding partners to implement the same.
Best practices in the areas of skilling, entrepreneurship and other areas of mutual interest; and use of technology solutions to enable skilled citizens to find suitable employment opportunities
The MoU would remain in effect for one year from the date of the last signature unless terminated by either of the participants.
