DIMAPUR — The State Red Run 2025 will be held on September 6 at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima.
According to an update, the event is being organised by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) in collaboration with the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and the Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA), under the aegis of the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to a press release, the Red Run is a nationwide initiative aimed at creating awareness of HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), promoting healthy lifestyles, and discouraging high-risk behaviours that increase vulnerability to HIV and other STIs.

The aims and objectives of the State Red Run 2025 include enhancing visibility on issues related to HIV & AIDS and drug abuse, promoting safe and responsible sexual behaviour among youth, creating awareness about HIV & STI services and encouraging their utilisation, increasing knowledge and understanding about HIV & AIDS, and reducing stigma and discrimination related to HIV & AIDS.
Winners of the district-level Red Run (1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in both male and female categories) from all 17 districts of Nagaland will participate in the state-level event. In addition, the open category will also see wide participation, with registration available through an official QR code shared on social media platforms of NSACS and Nagaland Athletics.
At the state level, the Red Run will feature a 10 km race for both men and women, with qualifiers through the district Red Run. The prizes for this category are INR 15,000 for the 1st position, INR 12,000 for the 2nd position, and INR 10,000 for the 3rd position.
The open category will also feature a 10 km run for men and women. The prizes for this category are INR 15,000 for the 1st position, INR 12,000 for the 2nd position, INR 10,000 for the 3rd position, INR 8,000 for the 4th position, and INR 5,000 for the 5th position.
For the open category, all participants must report at the venue on or before 7 am on September 6 for verification and collection of bibs. Any individual aged 16 years and above is eligible to participate. A registration fee of INR 200 will be payable at the venue on the event day. Participants can register for the event by scanning the official QR code shared by the organisers.
