
Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): Nagaland has registered as one of the states in the country to join in the global birding event the ‘Great Backyard Bird Count’ (GBBC) as well as the campus bird count.
The bird count, which is an annual event, was held from February 18 to the 21st organised in the state by the Wokha Forest division, Eco Warriors Nagaland and Natural Nagas, in association with Bird Count India, Early Bird, and powered by eBird India.
An update from the Wokha Forest division stated that the events this year were held in four districts of Kohima, Kiphire, Wokha and Dimapur. It added that on the second day, the state has so far recorded 88 species and is poised to increase as the count continues from various locations in the districts.
